FAQs - Answered by Career Accelerator Alumni

What stood out to you about this programme over others?

“I wanted to rebuild a new area of expertise, and I didn’t think I’d be able to achieve that in a shorter time… I also know that if I invest financially and for a period of 6 months I’d give it my all. If I’m doing something part-time or it’s a free course, I personally don’t put as much energy and effort into it.”

Is it worth the cost?

“100%. I don’t have anything else to say.”

How do you balance work, family and studies?

“The course tells you that you need to dedicate 10-12 hours per week* and it seems a lot, and it is a lot. It’s not easy, it’s content heavy, but the structure is exciting…”

*16 hours on average for the King's UX Design Career Accelerator

Is it worthwhile asking my company to sponsor me to do this programme?

“Yes, absolutely. So I got sponsored to attend this programme… but if I hadn’t been, I would have enrolled anyway. [The course] has given more value to me and my personal development, but also to my employer.”

How do you stay motivated?

“The respect for the money I invested in this course. It’s an expensive thing, but it’s a great investment, I don’t regret it.”

How practical is the content?

“It’s very practical, tomorrow I’m running a workshop using all of the content of the first course.”

What role do Career Coaches play, and are they helpful?

“Yes definitely. When I received the email for the interview [for a new role], I immediately emailed my Career Coach… she helped me prepare for the interview - I had a really long session with her. That was really key as two or three of the questions she gave me [to prepare] were asked in the interview.”
